St. Ronan’s Silver Band is the most active arts organisation in the town of Innerleithen, providing music for numerous events as well as tuition for local youngsters. We have entertained thousands of people in our 210-year history… let us entertain you!
St. Ronan’s is one of the Borders most successful contesting bands with three Scottish Championship titles in the Fourth, Third and Second Sections of banding.
The Band promotes a popular concert series every year and plays a leading role in St. Ronan’s Border Games Week. The Band also participates in Peebles Beltane Festival, Walkerburn Summer Festival, the Braw Lads’ Gathering and many other events within the district and beyond.
The St. Ronan’s Family of Bands incorporates a training section, Drum School, St. Ronan’s Future Band (our youth band) as well as the main band, involving over sixty musicians in total. We place a very heavy emphasis on the training and development of children and young people; there are over thirty spread cross our various youth groups and the Future Band performs extensively in its own right giving a rich outlet or young brass and percussion players.
The organisation is entirely self-financing and relies on various fund-raising events over the course of a year.
