St. RONAN'S SILVER BAND - Event Performers We look forward to welcoming back St. Ronan’s Silver Band to perform at the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches on Sunday. This band is the most active arts organisation in the Peeblesshire town of Innerleithen, having entertained countless people in its 212-year history. St. Ronan’s is proud to be the band in residence on the High Street for the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches and looks forward to resuming its attendance after the recent 3 year break.
St. Ronan’s is one of the Borders most successful contesting bands with Scottish Championship titles in the Fourth, Third and Second Sections of banding. The Band promotes a popular concert series every year and plays a leading role in Innerleithen's festival, St. Ronan’s Border Games and Cleikum Ceremonies. The Band also participates in many other summer festivals and events within the district and beyond. The St. Ronan’s Family of Bands incorporates our pBuzz group - the Ronanbuzzers - for the very youngest musicians, their training band (beginners), St. Ronan’s Future Band (our youth band) as well as the main band, involving over sixty musicians in total. They aim to:
• Be a learning organisation that puts youth and player development at the heart of their work. • Be a happy, purposeful band where players feel welcomed and encouraged. • Play regularly in their community and beyond at a variety of events always giving the best performance possible.
The Band is really looking forward to playing at the first Edinburgh Riding of the Marches since 2019! We'll be performing on the Royal Mile from around 1.00pm! 🎺🏇🥁Only a few days left until the 2023 Edinburgh Riding of the Marches, this Sunday 10th September. Make sure it's in your diary!
Entertainment starts on the Royal Mile at about 1230hrs, with the cavalcade of horses heading up the Royal Mile from Holyrood Palace at about 3.30pm.
